O'ahu, Hawai'i— Sunset Beach, North Shore

A friend that we met cruising came to visit us in Hawai'i. We all headed out to the north shore of O'ahu to go snorkeling at Pipeline and Sunset Beach. We wanted to see what the bottom was like that creates such phenomenal waves in the winter. The water was quite a bit colder than the south shore. The beaches on the north shore are the most beautiful I have ever seen. The water is crystal clear and the light is a photographer's dream. I let the waves crash on me and wash me in and out as I photographed the experience.
